Adopt

We bring our cats and kittens into the community by having adoptions in the Annapolis area at Petsmart and PetValu locations. Each location has different cats on show each week.

Petsmart locations and hours are in Annapolis and Arundel Mills every Saturday from noon to 3pm.

PetValue stores in Pasadena, Ellicott City, and Annapolis, and Edgewater. Cats spend about a week there and are visited by volunteers or their fosters twice daily for cleaning and feeding.

Potential adopters are asked to complete an adoption application. Once the application is submitted, a Cats R Us representative will go over the application with the potential adopter. If there are already other animals at home, veterinary references will be sought and a veterinary check will be needed. This process is simply to protect the health of the potential adoptee and the companion animals already owned. Providing all goes well, an appointment for a home visit will be arranged and the adoption will take place at this time.

All of our rescues, adults and kittens, are spayed or neutered BEFORE being placed in a permanent home. Our cats and kittens have been evaluated by a veterinarian and given the proper tests (FeLV/FIV) and vaccines, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Our adoption fee for cats less than one year old is $120 for one, $200 for two. Cats older than one year old are $100 for a single cat and $180 for two cats. Exotic cats are $150-300 each.

If you are gone from home for an extended period during the day, and desire to adopt a kitten, please consider adopting two and share in the wonderful enjoyment two kitties bring to your life. You will be delighted (and comforted) in knowing that they have each other while you are away!

For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email us at adopt@catsrusrescue.org Boots (mostly white with some black) and Mittens (just a touch of white on the feet and throat) are sisters. They're definitely different in personality, but get along well together. Boots is more outgoing and playful, and has a louder purr, while Mittens is more reserved, but also affectionate once she warms up to you. Often, Boots gets her attention in the evening as you go to bed, then when you wake up, Mittens will come up for some love before you start moving around too much. Mittens definitely is first to the food dish at dinnertime, though! Because Mittens is shy and perhaps a little nervous, they would do best in a home without small children or active dogs. These girls were adopted as little kittens but returned to us a year later due to an unexpected move. They are young cats and we are hoping to find them a forever home this time around! We hope to hear from you soon!! If you would like to submit a no obligation adoption application online please go to http://catsrusrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application All of our cats and kittens are rescues. They are mixed breed unless otherwise noted. If a cat or kitten is tagged as a particular breed we do not have papers to verify the breed information. We assign breeds to our cats and kittens based on similar appearance, size, and temperament as described in the breed description of a purebred cat. Stop by the Annapolis or Arundel Mills Petsmarts every Saturday between Noon - 2 pm to see our cats that need loving homes. Not all of our cats attend every adoption show so please send an email before you come to meet a particular cat so we can make appropriate arrangements. All of our adoptable cats and kittens are found as strays. We are a NO KILL facility and our cats will stay with us as long as it takes for them to find their forever home. Our adoption fee is $120.00 for kittens under 1 year (2 for $200), $100 for cats over 1 year (2 for $180), and $150 - $250 for exotic breed cats or kittens. This cat is not part of the CRU Adoption program. This cat is being posted as a guest in an effort to assist the rescuer in finding the cat a home. For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email adopt@catsrusrescue.org Sugar is a 12 year young domestic medium hair tabby/maine coon mix. This beauty has torti/tabby colors and weighs 14 pounds. She has just received all of her vaccinations and is up to date, spayed and is in good health. Sugar has been through a lot lately (her owner passed away) and needs TLC. She was an only kitty and was very attached to her owner. She is definitely a cat that wants a quiet home and is becoming sweeter each time we see her. She is talking to everyone, rubbing up against our legs and allowing new people to pet her. She's always happy to get her treats by hand. Sugar is a reliable kitty box user and always indoor only. She would like to grace her new home with you and keep giving as she has since a kitten. She is a four footed reward in life. Her former guardian loved Sugar! So much so, that he used his fine art skills to paint a picture of Sugar--and there is a pencil drawing too. Both are framed and come with her.

For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email us at adopt@catsrusrescue.org Both Mila and Lily are 7 month old sisters. Both girls need a little time to take to new people, however Mila warms up to you quickly and loves to follow you around. She doesn't meow often but sometimes makes adorable excited squeaks when its time for feeding. She enjoys kneading on blankets when she sees a person laying in bed. If you pet her while shes kneading she will eventually fall asleep next to you. Lily is a little more hesitant at first, however when she warms up to you, it means she really trusts you. We like to call her by her name and make clicking noises at her to let her know we want to pet her and she perks up! She loves good head scratches but has an elevator butt! Lily likes to run around with soft ball toys in her mouth. She grunts and runs really fast and will hide them places. The girls love to wrestle with each other and sleep together. These kitties have been through a lot of trauma together making them a bonded pair but wonderfully enough have rebounded to be amazing companions. Both enjoy playing with lasers and string on a stick. They also enjoy rolling in cat nip! With proper socialization they can get along with other cats, no experience with dogs. For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email us at adopt@catsrusrescue.org Halima was adopted as a kitten and returned to our rescue 10 years later. She spent the last several years of her life in one room because she was being bullied by another cat in the home. They felt she deserved better so we are trying to find a forever home for Halima this time around. Halima loves pets from her our volunteers and relishes the attention. Halima does ok with her shelter mates though she would do just fine as an only kitty as she is independent and keeps to herself in the shelter. You can tell how sweet she is in her video! Please consider her despite being 10 years old. She is healthy and has lots of love to give her new adopter! For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email us at adopt@catsrusrescue.org Alf and his buddy Patience are hoping to find someone looking to adopt 2 wonderful adult cats during kitten season! These two are a bonded pair so we are hoping someone out there is looking them. Both cats live with dogs and other cats and get along well with all. Like many cats, Alf is shy at first meet, but once acclimated he’s quite cheerful, chirping and seeking pets. He’s a good boy, age is six, no health challenges to date and the ideal home would be one that is calm and quiet and with a patient cat savvy person or couple. He has recently had his checkup and will have a dental mid-June. He lives with two small cat friendly dogs but does not seek them out. He also lives with several cats and the occasional foster kitten. His ideal companion if adopter is seeking two is Patience who came to us emaciated and with two kittens. She was frightened and had clearly been mistreated. In her foster home she regained her strength and blossomed into a beautiful girl. She responded favorably to the other cats in the foster home and has made great progress, always in view and also talkative. She remains head shy but has gained significant confidence and has also recently had her checkup and will have a dental prior to adoption. She is estimated to be about six as well. For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email us at adopt@catsrusrescue.org Johnny came to CRU as another stray needing help. Johnny needed more help than most of our rescues! He had a severe injury to his tail and it had to be amputated, hence how he got his nickname "no tail". Johnny was happy to get medical care and doesn't seem to mind looking like a bobtail kitty now! Johnny is a little shy but sweet and friendly. He gets along great with the other cats in the shelter. He is a bonded pair with Chillidae. All he needs now is a loving family to keep him safe from harm. He will be forever grateful! Johnny is 3 years old. Stop by the Annapolis or Arundel Mills Petsmart every Saturday between Noon- 3 pm to see our cats that need loving homes. Not all of our cats attend every adoption show so please send an email before you come to meet a particular cat so we can make appropriate arrangements. For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email adopt@catsrusrescue.org Foster Update: Evie is a good eater and prefers dry food so she's an easy keeper. She is an adorable kitty who loves to be petted by her foster mom . Check out her video! Evie needs a quiet home. She has blossomed in her foster home so we see the potential this lovely kitty has in the right environment. She does ok with other cats as long as the other cat gives her space. She would shine as an only cat. Please give this lovely girl a chance to have a home of her own. She is 7 years old. Evie came to us as a stray mother cat from an apartment complex. Her four kittens found wonderful homes a long time ago. Poor mom is still waiting! For more information or to arrange to meet Chillidae, please email adopt@catsrusrescue.org Sweet Chillidae was abandoned in the woods near a local supermarket and rescued on a chilly day, hence her name! Not long after being rescued she regained her trust in humans and blossomed into a wonderful, super affectionate and very playful kitty. Unfortunately at some point outside she suffered an eye injury which has left her left eye with limited vision but it doesn't seem to bother her at all, and is barely noticeable. Please email us and make this cute girls dream of a wonderful loving home a reality! She is a bonded pair with Johnny so if you are looking to adopt a pair of sweet kitties let us knoe. For more information or to arrange to meet this kitty please email adopt@catsrusrescue.org Meet our Bonnie Blue! If you ever wanted to root for a kitty this girl would get my vote. Bonnie was found in a dumpster with her four kittens trying to survive. Our rescue was called and we took the family in. As how it goes all the kittens were adopted but not the Mom. Bonnie Blue gets squinty eyes when she gets petted. You see the squinty eyes from across the room and you just have to stop and pet her girl. As you can see from her photos Bonnie is camera shy! She is a gorgeous classic tabby with beautiful markings and is super sweet. She will need some time to acclimate to her new home. But once you gain her trust you will have a friend for life. Let this Mom be our next adoption! Bonnie is 6 year old. Stop by the Annapolis or Arundel Mills Petsmarts every Saturday between 11:30 - 3 pm to see our cats that need loving homes.
